Popcaan Leaves Vybz Kartel
Rumors speculated last week that Jamaicas Dancehall artist Popcaan left the Portmore Empire. RRR Music now understands that the rumor has panned out to be true. This has been a crazy week for the Gaza Camp, first Vybz Kartel business manager Cory Todd the Jah Vinci and now Popcaan.
Last year Black Ryno was the first to leave and then shortly followed was Lisa Hype. This is going to be a serious blow to Vybz Kartel empire that he worked very hard to build. Popcaan Vybz second hand man was taken under the wing of Vybz 2 years ago has now decided to be a free agent. Popcaan always referred to Vybz as the father he never had!
This is a huge blow to the Dancehall industry and things are now up in the air. Majority of Dancehall music in the past 2 years was all from Vybz Kartel and his Gaza Empire. With another artist out might make the empire crumble.
Vybz Kartel is said to have controlled the camp like a puppet to a string and was also known to hold back the talent of these artist. The questions are flying around like what will happen to Popcaan? Would he end up like Ryno, another talented DJ that was left out to dry? Will Shawn Storm be the next one to go?
